Week in and week out, Explorers gather in groups called Units to try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world.
Ages 14-18 years
Explorer Scouts are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the programme
and direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders. The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections.
There is wider scope for activities like offshore sailing, campaigning, performing, parascending, mountaineering and expeditions.
As an Explorer Scout you have a home Unit and you can also attend any of the other Unit meetings that week as they all do different activities. By doing this, you will get the chance to do many more activities, not just the ones your branch organises and be able to achieve the Chief Scout’s Awards to celebrate your development as an Explorer Scout.
We have a number of Explorer Units in The Malverns (including one especially for Young Leaders) and you can view them on our website by clicking here.
